Free Printable Board Games™

What are Grim Trojan's™ Printable Board Games? They're not electronic games you play on your computer, but are instead printable board games you download and print on your printer.

What do you need to play the games? The games are in pdf (Abobe Acrobat) format. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open these files. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free program to download (click here to download Adobe Acrobat Reader). You will need a printer and paper to print out your game (we recommend a stiffer paper or card stock if your printer can handle it). Because you download the games, they do not have pawns or dice. Each game lists the pawns and dice you need. Pawns can be represented with things like colored pebbles, painted washers, printed pieces of paper or cardstock, etc. A crowned pawn can be represented by a mark on the item being used as a pawn. You might be able to find useable pawns from other games or buy them off the internet. If the game is larger than one page (and many are) you may wish to tape the pages together (so you may need tape).

Note: there are apps for smart phones and tablets that will simulate dice rolls for you. Many of them include all the polyhedrals you'd need for these games. If you don't have dice, this could be a very good substitute.

Also, The Balloons game requires a "compass die". This is an 8-sided die with N, NE, NW, S, SW, etc. on it. You can play the game using a four or eight sided die. For the four-sided, assign North, South, East and West to correspond to a number on the die. For the eight-sided die, use North, Northeast, South, Southeast, etc.

If all you have is are 6-sided dice, assign N,S,E and W to 1 through 4. Re-roll 5's and 6's. If you roll a five and/or six three times in a row, you lose your turn.

So, gather your dice and pawns—then download the games. You can build your game library quickly. And if you wish to make the games a little more permanent, simply mount them to cardboard, foam board, etc. If you have a large enough piece of plexiglass to cover your board you can place it over the printed board to keep the game board in place.

If you're ready to play, click here to download/open the games (the pdf file is a little large, so be patient while waiting for it to download/open). These games are free, so enjoy them all!

Free Polyhedral Dice Games

Dice games often get overlooked as an option to friends and family gaming. Board games win out most often as fun group play (and why not? board games are a lot of fun).

Dice games can be as much fun and as educational as board games (and they're smaller so you can transport them easily). They play in a car or hotel room as well as they do in your livingroom.

Each of these games use one or more of these polyhedral dice: four-sided, six-sided, eight-sided, ten-sided, percentile dice (10-sided pair), twelve-sided, and twenty-sided. You can find them at many hobby, gaming and comic stores (among others). You also can find them for sale on the Internet.

Note: there are apps for smart phones and tablets that will simulate dice rolls for you. Many of them include all the polyhedrals you'd need for these games. If you don't have dice, this could be a very good substitute.

We hope you enjoy these free games and will let us know what you think of them.
